Pam Thompson is Climbing Against the Odds

Big Commitment. Big Adventure.

Support my climb to prevent breast cancer!

In June 2013, I will participate in the Breast Cancer Fund's Climb Against the Odds, a mountain expedition for breast cancer prevention. I've joined a national team of women and men to help stop this disease before it starts.

Between now and June, I'm training to climb 14,179-foot Mt. Shasta in Northern California. At the same time, I'm fundraising in support of the Breast Cancer Fund's groundbreaking work to prevent breast cancer by eliminating our exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation linked to the disease.

A report released recently highlights the need to address the issue of chemical exposure and its consequences. It's time to demand disclosure and regulation of the chemicals that have become a part of our daily dosage, through our food system, the air we breathe, the beauty and health products we apply, and the household products we use.

I'm energized and motivated to do this climb. Training and fundraising are a daily reality. But the goal is clear...reach a summit and make a difference.

As a breast cancer survivor, I feel so lucky to have given up only a breast, and not my life. But I'd like to prevent others from having to go through this experience. As I train and climb I will be carrying in my heart those I know who have recently lost their lives to breast and other cancers, and those who are currently dealing with this disease. I am humbled by their will to fight and honored to represent them on Mt. Shasta.

Will you support me in this journey of a lifetime by making a donation to support the Breast Cancer Fund? Everyone has been touched in some way by this disease. Let?s make prevention possible. Click the link under my photo to donate to this important cause.

Thank you for your support!
