Lindsey's Journey to 'Climb Against the Odds'

Support my climb to prevent breast cancer!

In June 2014 I will participate in the Breast Cancer Fund's Climb Against the Odds, training to climb the 14,179-foot Mt. Shasta in Northern California. For those of you that know me, this is probably not a surprise that I am setting out to do something like this. Adventure and challenge thrill me. But WHY I am climbing is so much more important.

I am on a team with 14 other amazing people, and all have very personal reasons to climb. My family and friends and their experiences, coupled with my passion for health and fitness, have led me to this journey. I climb for my aunt, Tina Anderson, my grandmother, Cindy Hartman, Gail Bevers, the mother of one of my very best friends, and Martha Gonzalez, a member of my extended family, in particular. These amazing and gorgeous women have dealt with this disease and come out on the other side. I am proud, elated, and moved by their strength!

This is an exciting challenge for me, and to be doing something that represents healthy living and overcoming obstacles by standing up against a disease that has affected so many - too many - people in this world, is AMAZING. To me, this climb is very symbolic. The challenges that we face during our 3-day summit of Mt. Shasta will signify those of every single person who is faced with breast cancer. It will put things in perspective. It will cause us to reflect on how precious life is, and I am hoping it will motivate at least one person in my life to take a look at their lifestyle, and choose to live just a little bit better each day...myself included!

I am also a huge advocate of living a lifestyle that is naturally preventative. Staying fit, healthy, and happy are my passions in life and my line of work. I take so much joy in inspiring and motivating others to live healthy lives and make healthy choices, through trying to live my life exactly that way.

Please join me in this journey of a lifetime by making a donation to support my climb. The Breast Cancer Fund is also doing groundbreaking work to prevent breast cancer by eliminating our exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation linked to the disease as well - there's amazing work being done by all here! - and your money will help support this cause as well.

Thank you SO much for your means more to me than you know! You can also donate to my Fundly acccount HERE:
